THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan is witnessing a massive surge in his social media popularity, achieving 'superstar' status on Instagram within days of assuming office. The Chief Minister’s Instagram handle crossed the One-million follower milestone on the very day he took charge. Demonstrating rapid growth, that number skyrocketed to 1.6 million within just five days of his swearing-in ceremony.

With this digital surge, CM Satheesan has secured the second spot among Kerala's most-followed political leaders on Instagram. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor continues to lead the platform with 2.2 million followers, while Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan holds the third spot with 1.5 million followers.
Beyond Instagram, Chief Minister Satheesan boasts a digital footprint of 813,000 followers on Facebook and 51,500 on X (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor remains the undisputed leader of Kerala's political landscape across social media platforms. In addition to his Instagram dominance, the Thiruvananthapuram MP commands a massive following of 8 million on X and 1.7 million on Facebook.
