death

PALAKKAD: Three people, including two students who took a bath in a pond in Pattambi and a youth from Tamil Nadu who took bath in Attapadi's Bhavanipuzha, drowned to death on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Ashwin (12), son of Subish-Deepa couple of Mankottil in Kodalur, and Abhijith (13), son of Sunilkumar in Valancherry's Pannikode, who were bathing with their friends at Pattambi Vallur Melekulam. The incident happened yesterday afternoon. About 10 children were bathing in the pool. The bodies of Ashwin and Abhijith were found after a search by the locals.

Ashwin Pattambi is a 7th standard student of St Paul's English Medium School and Abhijith is a 8th standard student of Pattambi GHSS. Dead bodies are kept at Taluk Hospital Mortuary. Pattambi police took further action.

Prabhu (25), a resident of Coimbatore, died while taking a bath at the Anakkallu stone area in Attapadi's Bhavanipuzha. The young man came as part of an excursion. Due to lack of knowledge of the place, tourists who come to Attapadi often face accidents. This is the third death in two weeks.
