THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has rejected the government's proposal to extend the validity of rank lists for 18 teaching posts. The government had proposed extending the validity of the rank lists for 18 posts that are set to expire this month and in October and November. The PSC meeting held yesterday decided to reject the proposal. Kerala Kaumudi had reported yesterday that the PSC meeting was unlikely to approve the government's recommendation.
The PSC had clarified that the rules allow the validity of all rank lists expiring within a specified period to be extended only as a whole. The commission rejected the government's proposal citing observations made by the Kerala High Court and the Supreme Court on the matter.
As the government delayed submitting a revised recommendation after addressing this issue, the PSC has already published a new rank list for one of the 18 posts whose earlier list expired. The new list has been published for the post of High School Malayalam Teacher in Kozhikode district.
