MPs receive invitation letter for Parliament inauguration, opposition parties likely to boycott event

NEW DELHI: Opposition parties will likely stay away from the inauguration of the new Parliament building. Various opposition parties had criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating the new Parliament building and choosing Savarkar's birthday for the occasion. Parties including Congress have come out with public response on the issue. But despite the controversy, the central government is going ahead with the inauguration of the Parliament. MPs have already received the invitation letter for the inauguration ceremony scheduled on May 28.
