Black flags waved at Union Minister Amit Shah at Kollam; Youth Congress workers arrested

KOLLAM: Youth Congress activists waved black flags in protest against Union Home Minister Amit Shah upon his arrival in Kerala. The protest took place as Shah arrived at the Asramam Ground in Kollam around 2:35 PM to attend various events. The activists waved black flags just as Shah was on his way to the event location after stepping out of his helicopter.

The protest was led by Youth Congress State Working President Binu Chulliyil. Police officers accompanying the convoy immediately intervened, forcibly arresting and removing the activists. There were about eight Congress workers involved. A tense situation arose when hundreds of BJP workers, who had gathered at the Asramam Ground, attempted to manhandle the Youth Congress activists.

Black flags were waved at Amit Shah today in protest against the arrest of leaders—including the Youth Congress national president—in the national capital on Friday. Prominent BJP leaders, including Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi, accompanied Shah in Kollam. After the Youth Congress activists were removed, Amit Shah proceeded to Kundara by road.

Amit Shah will return to Delhi after inaugurating cooperative ventures in Kundara and attending the subsequent birthday celebrations of Mata Amritanandamayi.
