Actor Vinayakan arrested for drunken disruption at police station

KOCHI: Ernakulam North Police Station arrested actor Vinayakan for causing public disturbance while drunk. Police stated that Vinayakan under the influence of alcohol obstructed station operations.

Following his arrest, Vinayakan was transported to Ernakulam General Hospital for examination. Reports suggest that the actor engaged in indecent behaviour while at the police station, influenced by alcohol. The actor had been summoned by the police due to a recent incident that caused a commotion. Vinayakan was also alleged to have verbally abused the responding officers.

Earlier, after the passing of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Vinayakan posted a video on social media that insulted him. Youth Congress workers filed a complaint with Ernakulam North Police. In the Facebook live video, Vinayakan asked, "Who is this Oommen Chandy, Oommen Chandy died, why three days off?" A case has been registered against the actor under sections related to incitement to riot and disrespect for the deceased.
