'Emerging Bharat, Growing Kerala' business conclave; Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to inaugurate

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KeralaKaumudi and Kaumudi TV are setting the stage for a discussion by experts in the field of commerce and finance, looking for ways for further growth of Kerala, which is eager to develop with India. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the 'Emerging Bharat, Growing Kerala' business conclave at Hyatt Regency Thiruvananthapuram at 4.30 pm today. Union Minister V. Muralidharan, Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan, Rajya Sabha member P. Santosh Kumar and others will speak.

Kerala Kaumudi Chief Editor Deepuravi will deliver the introductory speech. Associate Editor V.S. Rajesh will give the vote of thanks. The Union Finance Minister will release the cover page of the book 'Kuthippinte Karuthil Keralam', an annual edition of the economic development book prepared by Kerala Kaumudi. Eminent persons who have made integral contributions to the economic development of the state will be honored on the occasion. Former Union Minister and MP Dr Shashi Tharoor will inaugurate the closing ceremony of the three-hour program.

In the session discussing Kerala's vast potential in the service and manufacturing sectors and the policy changes to be adopted to achieve them, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's Principal Secretary T.K.A. Nair, State Planning Board member Dr Raviraman, former Planning Board member G. Vijayaraghavan and others will speak.

The conclave will mainly discuss the possibilities and challenges of the next five years for the development of the state. Eminent people from economic, social, political, commercial, trade and industrial sectors of the state will participate in the discussion.
