THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday accused Opposition Leader VD Satheesan of calling for riots by repeatedly asking policemen to beat Congress activists. The Chief Minister was speaking at a press conference held after the Nava Kerala Sadas in Attingal.
"The other day, the opposition leader gave a speech in front of the Secretariat that KSU will continue what the Youth Congress started. The Congress is getting more and more provoked as its intention to tarnish the glory of the Nava Kerala Sadas has not been fulfilled. Why is KSU protesting? Which student problem do they have to solve? The act of stopping the attempt of youth congressmen to endanger their lives by jumping in front of the bus is a 'life-saving act' indeed," the CM said.
"The stand of KPCC president K Sudhakaran, who asked what was wrong with nominating Sangh Parivar supporters to the University Senate, is not a coincidence. It should be checked whether there was communication between them before such a thing happened. A deliberate effort is being made to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the state. The governor is also involved in this. The opinion expressed by the governor should not have come from a person holding a responsible position. KSU should be protesting against this," he added.
