Ceiling that collapsed at the government hospital

PALAKKAD: A section of the ceiling collapsed at the Government Hospital for Women and Children in Palakkad on Tuesday, triggering concern among patients and staff. The incident occurred in the morning in an area near the OP counter. It was the plastic ceiling installed below the actual ceiling that collapsed.

Hundreds of patients visit the hospital every day. A major mishap was narrowly avoided as no one was standing under the ceiling when it collapsed. The hospital is reportedly facing several issues, including water leakage. Patients said they are now worried that the remaining sections of the ceiling could collapse at any moment. They also said they are forced to stand underneath it in fear.
