Bus moved before wife got off; KSRTC driver accused of trying to assault elderly husband in Kollam

KOLLAM: A KSRTC bus driver allegedly tried to assault an elderly passenger in Kollam. The passenger allegedly questioned the driver for moving the bus before his wife had got off at a stop in Kottarakkara. The complaint was filed by Appukuttan Pillai of Perinad. He alleged that the driver abused him verbally and attempted to hit him with his slipper.

Appukuttan Pillai and his wife, Radhamma, were returning by KSRTC bus after visiting a temple in Kottarakkara on Wednesday. When Radhamma was getting off the bus at Mamood Junction, the driver allegedly moved the vehicle forward, causing her to fall to the ground.

According to the complaint, Appukuttan Pillai questioned the driver over the incident, following which the driver allegedly tried to assault him.
The couple subsequently lodged a complaint at the Kundara police station. Authorities said an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
