Mahila Congress passes unanimous resolution against CM VD Satheesan, demands party discipline

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Mahila Congress state committee has passed a unanimous resolution against Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, demanding that he work in subordination to the party, shed his arrogant attitude, and change his approach toward party workers.

The resolution was adopted at a state committee meeting held on Saturday. The friction stems from an incident involving Mahila Congress Thiruvananthapuram District President Gayatri V. Nair, who was allegedly insulted after approaching the Chief Minister with a recommendation letter from State President and MP Jebi Mather to include her name in the government pleader appointment list.

Raising the issue during the meeting chaired by Jebi Mather, Gayatri received backing from other members. The committee noted that the Chief Minister's approach toward them was derogatory, pointing out that workers had organised numerous protests against the Left Democratic Front government and worked tirelessly to bring the United Democratic Front to power.

Copies of the resolution have been forwarded to AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, AICC General Secretary in charge of Organisation K.C. Venugopal, Kerala-in-charge General Secretary Deepa Dasmunshi, and KPCC President Sunny Joseph.

Earlier, the KSU leadership had also criticised the Chief Minister, alleging that individuals with ties to the Students' Federation of India had been included in the government pleader appointment list.
