Safna Nazarudeen takes charge as new Labour Commissioner

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Safna Nazarudeen has taken charge as the new Labour Commissioner. The appointment has been made to fill the vacancy created by Arjun Pandiyan's transfer as the Thrissur District Collector. Safna is a 2020 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer.

Safna Nazarudeen, who began her official career as Assistant Collector in Malappuram, has held responsibilities as Sub Collector in Kottayam and Thiruvalla. She was serving as Sub Collector in Thiruvalla when she received her new appointment. Safna, who graduated with a first rank in Economics from Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram in 2018, also secured a top rank in the Civil Services Examination on her first attempt in 2020.

A native of Thiruvananthapuram Peyad, Safna, is the daughter of Police Special Branch Retd. SI Haja Nazarudeen and Employment Department Typist AN Ramla.
