THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The final of the first Super League Kerala Football held at Kozhikode Corporation Stadium had more attendance than the Kerala Blasters vs Bengaluru FC match held at Kochi earlier this season.
According to official figures, 35,672 people came to the stadium to watch the Super League Kerala final between Calicut FC and Forca Kochi while 34,940 were in Kochi to watch the Blasters-Bengaluru match.
It was a surprise for officials of Super League Kerala as Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram saw spectators reaching the stadium en masse even braving the rains. The Calicut-Thiruvananthapuram Kombans semi-final had a crowd of 15,867.
When Malappuram and Kombans locked horns at Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri, 10,420 people reached the stadium in support.
