Petitions against Police crackdown on student protests: Supreme Court sets Monday hearing 

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court will hear two petitions on Monday concerning police action against student protests at Jantar Mantar and various other parts of the country.

Senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan mentioned the matter before a bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant, informing the court that two petitions have been officially filed against the police actions. Following the submissions, the Chief Justice directed that the petitions be listed for consideration on Monday.

Addressing earlier reports that the Chief Justice had refused to entertain a petition regarding police action during a protest staged by the Kokhroch Janata Party at Jantar Mantar, the Chief Justice denied the claims, stating that not even a single sheet of paper had been received regarding the matter.
