Question paper leak: Big reshuffle in NTA, central govt dismisses 47 officials

NEW DELHI: In the wake of nationwide protests following the NEET question paper leak, the central government made a major reshuffle in the National Testing Agency. As part of this, 47 officials of the NTA were dismissed. High-ranking sources have informed that legal action is also possible against some of the dismissed officials. However, information about their duties or positions has not been released.

The government decided to make significant changes in the outsourcing system related to the conduct of the examination to completely prevent the leakage of question papers. The priority will be to ensure transparency and security in the conduct of the examination. The major reshuffle in the NTA has come after Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised strict measures, including the establishment of fast-track courts to resolve question paper cases quickly.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) was formed by the central government in 2017 to conduct entrance examinations and fellowship examinations for higher educational institutions.
