'Drunk' neighbour attacks woman with axe in Alappuzha, arrested

ALAPPUZHA: A housewife was brutally attacked by her neighbour in Alappuzha Karthikappally on Tuesday. Rajan, a resident of Chutukattuparambu Colony, attacked the housewife with an axe. Thrikkunnapuzha police took the accused into custody.

According to the police, Rajan is a chronic alcoholic and is a history-sheeter. CCTV footage of the incident has been released.

Rajan engaged in a verbal feud with the victim’s son. In a rage, he turned against the youngster and tried to attack him. However, the youngster ran away forcing Rajan to vent all anger on the his mother. The housewife was badly beaten using the handle of an axe.
