Boyfriend turns rogue after receiving private video; Woman duped of Rs two crore

BENGALURU: A youngster was arrested for extorting crores from a woman after threatening to leak her private photos. Mohan Kumar was arrested by police in the case. Through blackmailing, the culprit extorted more than two crores from the Bengaluru-based woman in several instances. The woman complained to the police when the threats continued despite her handling the demanded money.

Mohan Kumar and the woman became friends at the boarding school. Although being best friends, the two parted ways after school. But fate brought them back as they two chanced upon after several years, only to reignite their lost love. Mohan gave fake promises of marriage which the woman took into belief. The duo travelled together and often engaged in copulation. Mohan meanwhile forced the victim to send explicit videos to him. Mohan also filmed the sexual act only after shrewdly blurring his face.

After the videos were exchanged, the devil inside him came out as he demanded money from the woman. Not complying would result in the video making its rounds on social media. Seeing the threat, the woman transferred one and a half crore rupees from her grandmother's account to Mohankumar's various accounts. Later, the accused stole watches, jewellery and a luxury car worth lakhs from the woman. The greed never showed signs of stopping forcing the woman to move with a complaint.The

Police Commissioner said that Mohan Kumar had extorted Rs 2.57 crore from the woman. It is reported that Rs 80 lakh has been confiscated from the youth.
