NEW DELHI: Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan garnered attention for his gracious conduct during his visit to India. A video went viral showing the Crown Prince thanking an Indian chauffeur who had driven him to the venue after he had attended the BRICS summit. As footage of the incident circulated on social media, many people came forward to praise the conduct.
Sheikh Khaled attended the 18th BRICS summit in New Delhi as the representative of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. After concluding his official engagements, he arrived at the Delhi airport. After greeting the officials who came to see him off, the crown prince started walking towards the aircraft when he realised that he had indeed missed something. The crown prince thought about the person who had driven him to the airport, and immediately turned back, shook hands with the chauffeur, and exchanged pleasantries before walking to the aircraft.
Leaders typically travel accompanied by security personnel and protocol teams during official visits. However, it was the Crown Prince's simple gesture of personally thanking the chauffeur that stood apart. After the video surfaced, social media has been flooded with comments praising Sheikh Khaled.
