THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Kaumudi has always been a newspaper that stood for the underprivileged and those deserving consideration, and it continues to follow the same style and principles of its Pathradhipar K Sukumaran, said Health and Devaswom Minister K Muraleedharan. The Pathradhipar had always stood for the upliftment of the oppressed, the minister said.
Muraleedharan said this while inaugurating a commemorative meeting organized by the Kerala Kaumudi Non-Journalists Association in connection with the 45th death anniversary of editor K Sukumaran.
G R Anil MLA presided over the function. Minister C P John was the chief guest, while V Muraleedharan MLA delivered the keynote address. C K Harindran MLA also attended the event.
The editor memorial award and welfare fund award were presented at the function. Kerala Kaumudi Non-Journalist Association President V Balagopal delivered the welcome address, while general secretary K S Sabu said the vote of thanks.
Floral tributes were offered at the editor’s memorial at 10 am.
