PATHANAMTHITTA: In a shocking incident, a murder accused sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in Pathanamthitta with the help of the girl's mother. The police arrested both the mother and her lover from Mangaluru in connection with the incident. The arrested individuals are Jayamohan, a native of Ranni, and the girl's mother, who hails from Balaramapuram, Thiruvananthapuram.

Jayamohan is the lover of the victim's mother. While Jayamohan was in jail, he got acquainted with the brother of the girl's mother. This acquaintance eventually paved the way for a close relationship between Jayamohan and the girl's mother. After getting released from jail, Jayamohan summoned both the mother and daughter to Pathanamthitta. He booked a room in a lodge, where he allegedly assaulted the girl in front of her mother.

After returning to Thiruvananthapuram, the girl informed her school teachers about the incident. Following this, she recorded her statement before the Child Welfare Committee. Since the crime took place in Pathanamthitta, the case was handed over to the local police there. Upon registering the case, Jayamohan and the girl’s mother fled Kerala. However, during the subsequent investigation, a police team led by the Pathanamthitta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) tracked them down and arrested them in Mangaluru. Both accused have been remanded by the court.
