THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Afaan, the accused in the Venjaramoodu massacre case, has shifted to jail. Afaan was sent to jail after his custody expired. The police had taken the accused in custody, took him to various places and collected evidence for the murder of his father's brother and his wife. Afaan's statement said that his father's brother, Latif, and his wife were killed by hitting them on the head with a hammer after they constantly abused Afaan to get back the money he had borrowed.

During the evidence collection, Afaan narrated to the police without any hesitation about the atrocities he had committed. Afaan had borrowed Rs. 80,000 from Latif. Latif had been giving him trouble by asking for the money back. Latif was also the one who had prevented Afaan from taking his grandmother's gold. This is the reason why Afaan killed him.

After strangling his mother and forcing her to the ground, Afaan first killed his father's mother. Later, he reached Latif's house. As soon as they saw Afaan, Latif's wife Sajitha went to the kitchen. Afaan took out a hammer from his bag and hit Latif on the head several times while he was sitting on the chair in the hall. Sajitha, who had come running after hearing the noise, was also hit. Sajitha, who had run to the kitchen, was attacked from behind and killed.

Afaan went home after throwing Latif's mobile phone and car keys into the bushes 50 meters away. The police found this mobile phone in Afaan's presence yesterday. Afaan had also bought chilli powder to throw in the eyes of those who would obstruct the attack. The chilli powder was also in the bag where the weapon was kept.
