NEW DELHI: Akhil P. Dharmajan's novel 'Ram c/o Anandhi" has won the Kendra Sahitya Akademi's Yuva Puraskar. Sreejith Moothedath's novel 'Penguinukalude Vankarayil" has won the Children's Literature Award. The award consists of Rs 50,000 and a bronze statuette.
The Kendra Sahitya Akademi announced the Yuva Sahitya Awards yesterday for writings in 23 languages, including Malayalam. The Malayalam novel was selected by a jury comprising Dr AG Oleena, Dr V Rajeev and Dr Sreevrinda Nair N. Writings in 24 languages were eligible for the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Children's Literature Award. The Children's Literature Award was decided by a jury comprising Gracy Joseph, Dr PK Kushalakumari and Rajeev Gopalakrishnan.
Akhil P. Dharmajan is a native of Pathirapalli, Alappuzha. Sreejith, a native of Bhoomivathukkal, Kozhikode, is a teacher at Cherpu CNN High School, Thrissur.
