
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP released the draft of development plan submitted by Thiruvananthapuram Municipality to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The draft of the development plan, which aims at comprehensive development of Thiruvananthapuram city, was released under the leadership of Mayor V.V. Rajesh. The development plan promises to ensure progress cards of projects, a popular budget based on public opinions, and corruption-free governance with the help of digital technologies.
The development document also states that the current family health centres will be transformed into better treatment centres with online systems that will make corporate services available at the fingertips of the city residents and will operate 24 hours a day. The Mayor clarified that the development document, based on various discussions that took place until the Prime Minister's arrival, will take a few more days to be completed.
The corporation's financial transactions will be made completely digital. Houses for the homeless within five years, indoor-style waste management and a comprehensive drainage system are under proposal. The development document aims at turning Thiruvananthapuram into a great port city with special focus also given to promoting nightlife. BJP Thiruvananthapuram District President Karamana Jayan, Deputy Mayor G.S. Ashanath, and BJP Parliamentary Party Leader Pappanamcode Saji also attended the development document release ceremony held at the BJP State Committee Office.
