V Murugadas replaces Krishnankutty in Chittur, Mathew T Thomas in Thiruvalla; no consensus yet on Kovalam seat

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Socialist Janata Dal (ISJD), a constituent party of the LDF, has announced its candidates for the upcoming Kerala Assembly election. In Chittur, V Murugadas will contest in place of K Krishnankutty. The other candidates are Sabu George in Ernakulam and Adv. Mathew T Thomas in Thiruvalla. The candidates were announced by Minister K Krishnankutty.

The candidate for the Kovalam seat, where there is an ongoing dispute, will be announced later. Krishnankutty said there are differences regarding the Kovalam seat and that the issues will be discussed and resolved today. He added that the candidate for Kovalam will likely be announced tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Minister A K Saseendran will contest again from Elathur. In Kuttanad, the sitting MLA Thomas K Thomas will contest once more. Sharad Pawar has handed over the NCP candidate list to the LDF convener.
