KOCHI: The girl, who went viral during the Kumbh Mela, and her husband Farman are evading the police, even as the Madhya Pradesh Police remain firm on recording her statement. The police have directed those helping the couple to produce her, but she has taken the stand of not appearing. Reports say that she is planning to approach the Madhya Pradesh and Kerala High Courts to seek cancellation of the FIR and to give a confidential statement. However, the Madhya Pradesh Police insist that her statement must be recorded. They are staying in Kochi for this purpose. The high court has stopped the arrest of Farman until April 20.

Meanwhile, it is learned that the girl has moved from Kochi to a secret center. According to the tower location, the girl is in Kochi itself. However, the Kerala Police say that they do not know where she is. It is not clear what the Kerala Police' stand will be if the Madhya Pradesh Police takes the girl into custody. The girl has sought the protection of the Kerala Police. A complaint has been filed with the chief minister and the Kochi City Police Commissioner demanding this. The main demand in the complaint is that she has completed 18 years of age and that the move to take her to Madhya Pradesh be stopped. The Madhya Pradesh police registered a POCSO case following a complaint from the family that the girl is still a minor.
