SEETHATHODU: An Ayyappa devotee was killed in an attack by a wild tusker on the Azhutha-Pampa Road in Sabarimala. He was beaten to death when he was resting there. The incident happened early Sunday morning. Another person sustained serious injuries.

Azhutha-Pampa Road is the traditional route to Sabarimala. Following the attack, the forest department blocked this route. It is not safe to travel along this route as there are wild tuskers in the area. Pilgrims travelling this way have been shifted to safer places.
