KOCHI: The Kerala Film Producers' Association's talks with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) over the Shane Nigam issue proved to be a failure as the representatives of the Producers' Association demanded Rs 1 crore compensation from the actor. In a meeting held with AMMA on Monday, the Producers' Association stated that the actor must pay the amount to compensate for the losses suffered by the producers of the shelved films. They added that the producers won't cooperate with the actor unless he pays the sum.

Following this, AMMA decided to back off from the talks, as it felt that there is no point in making a compromise by paying money. Earlier, the Producers' Association had demanded that Shane should pay Rs 7 crore as compensation.
