Kasargod native succumbs to COVID-19

KASARGOD: One died of Covid-19 in the state. Moideen (65), a Kasargod native died on Sunday early morning. He was undergoing treatment in Kannur Medical college. He was confirmed COVID-19 positive when he was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. He was suffering from a serious kidney ailment and was also a diabetes patient. He was also confirmed of Pneumonia. The increasing deaths of Covid-19 patients in the district have triggered panic among the people.

Meanwhile, number of Covid-19 patients crossed 2,000, on Saturday also. 11 deaths happened on Saturday. 2,655 cases were registered on Saturday, among these, 2433 cases were through contact and source of 220 cases are unknown. This is the highest number of Covid-19 cases recorded so far. 40,162 samples were tested. 2111 persons were recovered on Saturday. 590 cases were reported from Thiruvananthapuram.
