Wife eloped with her lover, while NRI husband was in Covid-19 quarantine

KOLLAM: Kumanallor police held a woman and her lover, who fled from the district after abandoning her minor children. Police had presented both of them before the judicial first class magistrate court. The couples are Pallimann native Shariff (38) and Muttakavu native Mubeena (33).

Mubeena fled the district on August 19 after giving tiffin to her husband, who is serving quarantine in a lodge at Kollam, after returning from Saudi Arabia. When police were in lookout for Mubeena on her husband’s complaint, they received another plaint from Shariff’s wife whose husband was not seen in days.

Both of them have two kids each. In the prima-facie probe, it was revealed that both of them had gone together. Both came under police net when the investigation started on the basis of phone records.

The probe team under Kannanallor SHO, UP Vipinkumar has held the couples on charges of the Juvenile Justice Act.
