SULTAN BATHERY: The tiger that triggered panic among the people of Kolavally in Wayanad was chased into the Bandipur forest in Karnataka. Though a tranquillizer dart was fired at the tiger, it managed to escape. Following this, the tiger was chased and forced to cross the Kannaram river.

The forest rangers found the tiger in an agricultural land at Parakavala by around 2.30 pm. Following this, a tranquillizer dart was fired at the animal. The tiger, which seemed unaffected by the tranquillizer, went on to attack a forest official. It was Vijesh, watcher of the Pulpally forst office that got injured. Vijesh has been shifted to a private medical college for surgery.
