Kongad MLA KV Vijayadas passes away

THRISSUR: Kongad MLA KV Vijayadas passed away in Thrissur. Vijayadas, who was undergoing treatment at the Thrissur Medical College for cerebral hemorrhage, breathed his last at 7.45 pm on Monday.

The MLA was admitted to the hospital on December 11 after he tested positive for COVID-19. Though he recovered from the disease, he remained in the hospital due to post-COVID issues.

Born in 1959, Vijayadas entered politics through Kerala Socialist Youth Federation, a student movement. He was a member of the CPM Palakkad district committee and had served as CPM Chittoor Area Committee Secretary. Vijayadas was elected to the Assembly from the Kongad constituency in 2011 and 2016.
