THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bindu, mother of Nimisha Fathima, who joined ISIS, reacts to the reports of Taliban releasing 5,000 prisoners from Afghan jail. There were reports that there are eight Malayalees including Nimisha among those released by the Taliban.

‘Came to know that was the intelligence report from Afghanistan. I don’t know the truth. Thanks to the Almighty’ reacted Bindu. Taliban have released about 5,000 people from various prisons in Afghanistan, including eight Malayalees, according to intelligence sources.

Nimisha, a native of Attukal left with her husband Bexon, a native of Palakkad to join ISIS in July 2016. Bindu then lodged a missing complaint. An investigation confirmed that Nimisha converted to Islam with her husband and joined ISIS after accepting the name Fathima.
