Kerala records 7224 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, 47 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 7224 COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Among these, 6679 persons developed the disease through contact, including 473 cases without an identified source of infection. 33 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 39 health workers contracted the disease on Thursday.

7638 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 69,625 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 47 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 35,040.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Thiruvananthapuram 1095, Ernakulam 922, Thrissur 724, Kozhikode 708, Kollam 694, Kottayam 560, Kannur 471, Pathanamthitta 448, Palakkad 335, Malappuram 333, Idukki 306, Wayanad 254, Alappuzha 250, Kasaragod 124.

73,015 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
