George Onakkoor bags Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award, Raghunath Paleri wins Award for Children's Literature

NEW DELHI: George Onakkoor has bagged the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award for his autobiography Hridayaragangal. Raghunath Paleri won the Children's Literature Award and Mobin Mohan won the Yuva Award. Raghunath Paleri won the award for 'Avar Moovarum Oru Mazhavillum' and Mobin Mohan for his novel 'Jacaranda'.

George Onakkoor has served as the Director of the State Institute of Encyclopaedic Publications, the first unofficial chairman of the State Resource Centre, the Director of the Institute of Children's Literature and the architect of the Balakairali Vijnanakosam. He is also the recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award (1980, 2004), the Thakazhi Award (2006) and the Kesavadev Sahitya Award (2009).

Akale Aakasham, Illam, Ulkadal, Uzhavuchalukal, Ezhuthapurangal, Kalthamara, Kamana, Samathalangalkkappuram, Hridayathil Oru Vaal, Nayaka Sankalpam Malayala Novelil, Njan Oru Kaiyoppu, Naadu Neengunna Neram, Naalu Poochakkuttikal, Prayakadhakal Adarunna Aakasham, Ente Sanchara Kadhakal, Olivumarangalude Naattil are some of his famous works.
