PALAKKAD: Twenty five people have been sentenced to life in the double murder case in Mannarkkad. The verdict was pronounced by the Palakkad additional sessions court in the murder case of Nazaruddin and his brother Kunhuhamsa in Kallamkuzhi.
The accused in the case are league activists. The accused has been asked to pay a fine of Rs 50,000 each to the family of the dead. The brothers killed were AP Sunni activists.
The double murder happened on November 20 in 2013. Their brother Kunhu Muhammed sustained injuries in the attack. The attack was following a local political dispute. There were 27 accused in the case. Fourth accused Hamsappa died even before the trial started. Another minor in the case was acquitted
