THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V D Satheesan said parallel activities will not be permitted inside the congress party. He said the Congress has no childhood for a factionalism. His response was in the wake of the Malabar Tour of Shashi Tharoor. Satheesan in strong language criticized the letter controversy in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.
‘The congress leaders have a space in the party. The agenda to destroy the party will not be tolerated. The congress in Kerala functions as a team. The chief minister criticized the crime branch who investigated the letter controversy in the corporation. The statement of CPM district secretary Anavoor Nagappan was recorded via phone. It is a mocking situation on the party being the investigating agency. If this trend continues, the state government will not be able to give pension. The finance department is not able to control lavish expenditure. Government activities are stalled without money. The government has failed miserably in financial management.’
‘The media can criticize the Congress leaders. The Congress leaders in the state are not balloons that burst when inflated. Satheesan asked the media to check whether Tharoor participated in the protests in Thiruvananthapuram. The media violates the boundaries of decency. The media is trying to destroy the Congress in the state by bringing K Sudhakaran's missing letter,’ Satheesan said.
Reacting to the reception accorded to Tharoor in Panakkad, he said the constituent party leaders have a good relationship with the Congress leaders.
Meantime, Tharoor responded that his visit to Panakkad was a normal thing and is not reacting to Satheesan's warning. Efforts are being made to unite the constituent parties in the Congress. Will not form a new group. Efforts are being made to take the party forward. He said that his goal is politics uniting everyone.
