KANNUR: BJP leader P.K. Krishnadas has said that the party has kept its doors open to leaders and workers from all political parties who wish to join it. His remarks came after P.P. Divya, former president of the Kannur District Panchayat and CPM leader, shared a Facebook post that appeared to signal a growing distance from her party.
“We have kept our doors open to leaders and workers from both parties. Let people make their stand clear. No half measures,” Krishnadas said. Krishnadas alleged that the objective of the VD Satheesan government was to fully protect Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan in the monthly payment and hawala cases. He added that a Supreme Court verdict had once again made the alleged secret understanding between the Congress and the Marxist party as clear as daylight.
Krishnadas also accused Chief Minister VD Satheesan's government of subverting the people's mandate by protecting Pinarayi Vijayan in corruption cases. The BJP would wage a political battle against what he described as an unholy alliance between the Congress and the CPM in Kerala, he said.
Krishnadas added that the BJP's doors were open to sincere workers in the CPM and the Congress who opposed corruption.
“What once seemed right need not remain right forever,” Divya wrote in her Facebook post. The post went on to say that a raft that helped someone cross from one bank to another need not be carried for the rest of one's life. Her remarks have fuelled speculation that she is distancing herself from the CPM.
