THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: E.N. Suresh Babu, the former CPM Palakkad District Secretary, is likely to be expelled from the party's primary membership. A special commission will be appointed to investigate the complaints raised against Suresh Babu, and action will be taken following the inquiry.

The complaint regarding alleged misconduct towards a female lawyer will be examined. The state leadership is firm on the need for strict action; both the district committee and the secretariat have demanded severe disciplinary measures. Similar complaints had surfaced in the past too against Suresh. The lawyer handed over digital evidence along with the complaint to the state leadership. Party workers from Kozhinjampara also submitted a complaint to the state leadership regarding factionalism in Palakkad CPM.

Along with this come various allegations of corruption, including issues related to the renovation of the Palakkad party office. It is likely that a special commission will be appointed to investigate these complaints. Although Suresh Babu was removed from the post of District Secretary, he continues to serve in the District Secretariat and the State Committee. This factor led to the party appointing a commission.

The State Secretariat will convene only after the extended district committee meetings are concluded. With the induction of former minister M.B. Rajesh into the State Secretariat, the organisational equations within the district have shifted. Those sidelined from the leadership and opponents of Suresh Babu are now rallying in support of the party’s decision.

Another rumour included Suresh Babu's alleged handiwork trying to impede the return of leaders like N.N. Krishnadas to the party leadership. M.B. Rajesh opined the need for strict action against Suresh Babu.

The complaint filed by a female lawyer against E.N. Suresh Babu contains serious allegations. She stated that Suresh Babu behaved inappropriately towards her at the party office when she arrived for an organisational event and then went on to harass her over the phone for a year. The lawyer warned that she would proceed with the complaint if the party fails to take action. On the eve of the conclusion of the Palakkad district committee meeting, Pinarayi Vijayan summoned Suresh Babu to Malappuram. Reports indicate that Vijayan presented digital evidence during the meeting and asked him to step down from the post of District Secretary. Other allegations against Suresh Babu include illicit connections with real estate and spirit mafia groups.
