Cargo ship hit, catches fire in Strait of Hormuz; two casualties reported

TEHRAN: A cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz was struck by an unidentified projectile, causing a fire and leaving the vessel adrift. All crew members were evacuated, with two casualties reported.

Meanwhile, 10 people were killed and 14 others injured in Saudi airstrikes on Yemen, the Houthis said. Eight civilians were reportedly killed and 11 injured in Taiz, while two civilians were killed and three injured in Al-Jawf.
The Houthis also warned that US military bases in the Gulf would be targeted if Saudi Arabia received assistance.

Saudi Arabia has meanwhile postponed fireworks and a drone show planned as part of its National Day celebrations. The events have been postponed until further notice, with a new date to be announced later.
