DUBAI: The UAE's National Meteorological Department announced that rain will lash in various parts of the country by the beginning of next week. The forecast calls for cloudy weather with the possibility of showers in the eastern and northern parts of the country from Sunday night to Monday.
The low-pressure area forming over Oman and the increase in humidity in the atmosphere are creating favourable conditions for the rain. Authorities warned that some areas may receive heavy rain. The rain is expected to bring relief from the intense heat tormenting the country for the past few days.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department advised people to be vigilant of strong dust storms that could obscure visibility. Officials have advised travellers to heed weather warnings and take extra care when driving in the event of rain and strong winds. Fishermen and boat owners are also advised to take precautions as the sea is likely to be rough.
