‘What injustice is this?’: Mansoor Ali Khan fumes after his dance sequence was deleted from Suriya film

CHENNAI: Actor Mansoor Ali Khan has expressed disappointment over the removal of scenes he had worked hard on for Karuppu, and alleged that footage cut from the film was not released on YouTube as previously promised. Speaking at the audio launch of All Pass in Chennai, Mansoor said he had performed a dance sequence in the song Naanga Naalu Peru of Karuppu, but the scene was removed from the film.

“I danced in the Naanga Naalu Peru song of Karuppu, but they removed it completely. What injustice is this?” he said. Mansoor added that he had been told the deleted scenes would be released on YouTube, but claimed that this had not happened.

Referring to actors Suriya and Karthi, Mansoor said they were established actors and wished them well, but added that others in the industry should also be given opportunities. “They are big actors. Let them live well. But let us live too,” he said.

Mansoor, who has worked as an actor and producer for several years, said he wanted justice for his work and asked people to judge the matter themselves. He also spoke about criticism and negative comments on social media and other platforms. According to Mansoor, even when he believes he has done something good, people continue to speak negatively about it.

Mansoor further stressed the importance of recognising the contribution of technicians and other members of the film industry. He said every technician should be respected and that their work was important to cinema. He also suggested that the names of technicians who worked on a film should be given greater prominence in invitations and said nobody’s contribution should be underestimated. “I respect everyone working in cinema, including technicians and the advertising media,” he said, while reiterating that the efforts of every person involved in a film should be valued.
