‘This is victory of democracy, strike to continue'; Abhijeet Dipke on Pradhan's resignation

NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has reacted to the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Dipke said the resignation is a victory of democracy. He said the government's action is due to the protests of students and that he dedicates this resignation to the students who committed suicide following the question paper leak.

Addressing the students gathered at Jantar Mantar, he said that this resignation is proof that ordinary citizens can democratically prosecute the rulers. However, he clarified that the resignation of the education minister is only one of their goals and that the protests will continue until two other important demands are met.

CJP's other demands are to provide a compensation of Rs 1 crore each to the families of students who committed suicide following the NEET irregularities and to take strict action against the cops who brutally beat the protesters on July 20.

The unexpected resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan comes just hours before the third round of talks between the central government and CJP representatives. The CJP had earlier made it clear that resignation was one of their key demands and that they were not ready to compromise on it.
