Accused Siya Goyal in Pune murder case makes obscene gestures to media

PUNE: Siya Goyal, the accused in the Pune murder case, made obscene gestures towards the media. The incident happened when she was brought home for investigation in the case of pushing her fiancé Ketan Agarwal (25) to death from the Lohagad Fort along with her lover Chetan Chaudhary. As she was brought out from her house by the police, she made an obscene gesture towards the media seen outside.

A youth identified as Ketan Agarwal fell to his death on June 18 at the Lohagad Fort near Pune in Maharashtra. Siya and her lover Chetan Chaudhary pushed him to death. Initially, she told police that Ketan slipped and fell and so the police registered a case of accidental death based on her statement. However, the police grew suspicious as she showed no sadness in her behaviour. An investigation that followed revealed the truth behind the murder and led to the arrest of Siya and her lover Chetan.

Both the families had fixed their marriage for November. However, since Siya was in love with Chetan, the two conspired to kill Ketan.

Siya's first attempt to kill him was on June 14. She took Ketan to the fort and pushed him but he survived by grabbing a bush on the cliffside. Siya, who got nervous, screamed about seeing a snake and then hugged him.

After the first attempt failed, Siya forcibly took Ketan to the fort again on June 18. She called her lover Chetan this time. The two then pushed Ketan from behind into the gorge.

The two will be produced in the Wadgaon court at 2:30 pm today. Reports say that the Pune Rural Police will seek their additional remand and on the other hand, the lawyers of both the accused will request judicial custody.
