Medium-range ballistic missile Agni-4 successfully test-fired

NEW DELHI: The modified version of India's medium-range ballistic missile Agni-4 has been successfully test-fired. The test was conducted yesterday at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha. The missile was able to accurately hit a target at a distance of 3,000 km.

The missile, which can be launched from a road-mobile launcher, will further strengthen India's defence capabilities. The first test of Agni-4 was conducted in September 2024.

• The launch was a complete success, meeting all technical and operational parameters of the missile, the Ministry of Defence said.

• The missile's accuracy, range, navigation system and other critical technical components were confirmed through the test.

• The Agni-4 missile, which uses a two-stage solid-fuel engine, can hit targets up to 4,000 km away.

• It can automatically detect obstacles or deviations during its journey to the target and correct its course.
