BENGALURU: A 22-year-old Malayali youth was beaten to death by his girlfriend's father in Bengaluru. The deceased has been identified as Kiran, a native of Palakkad. Police have arrested Anand, a resident of Yelahanka, in connection with the murder. Anand reportedly confessed to killing Kiran after finding him with his daughter. He was also Kiran's employer.
The murder took place on Tuesday night. Anand owns a company that manufactures products, including sweet corn. Kiran had been working there for the past two years. During this period, he fell in love with Anand's 19-year-old daughter, who is studying in Mysuru. She had returned home on vacation a few days ago.
On Tuesday morning, Anand and his wife left for Tamil Nadu. Kiran visited the house during their absence to meet the young woman. However, Anand returned unexpectedly and found his daughter and Kiran together.
After sending his daughter to a relative's house, Anand brutally assaulted Kiran with a bat and a pipe. Kiran collapsed after Anand kicked him in the lower abdomen. Anand then took him to a hospital in an autorickshaw. However, Kiran was declared dead on arrival. Kiran had been staying with his brother, who works as a driver at a vegetable shop in Bengaluru. His body is currently kept at a hospital in the city.
