NEW DELHI: A minor girl who grabbed notoriety for making vile abuse at the prime minister came out with an apology video on Friday. The girl made the abusive remarks against the Prime Minister during the student protests over the NEET question paper leak.
“Under the influence of a few people who participated in the protest, I criticised the Prime Minister, making nasty comments. I am only 15 years old. I know what I did doesn’t deserve forgiveness. This will be my first and last mistake. I apologise to the entire country. I feel very ashamed. I cannot even lift my face. I am sorry,” the girl says in the video. However, the authenticity of this video is not clear. Meanwhile, the age of the girl is recorded as 25 in the police FIR.
The FIR was initially lodged against the girl based on a complaint received by the Noida police for her abusive remarks against the Prime Minister. Later, the complaint was transferred to the Parliament Street police station in New Delhi. The complaint states that the girl's remarks insulted the dignity of the Prime Minister's office.
The girl's apology comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through an Instagram video, said he is willing to forgive all students who made obscene remarks against him and his late mother during the protest at Jantar Mantar.
