NEW DELHI: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has invited Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke to join the NDA alliance, urging him to become a member of the Republican Party of India (RPI), which is part of the BJP-led alliance at the Centre. Athawale also urged Dipke to join the Republican Party of India to help realise the dreams of Dr BR Ambedkar.
“Abhijeet Dipke is a dynamic young leader. He should come forward and join us to strengthen society and the party,” Athawale said. He said the government at the Centre believes that those who commit wrongdoing should be punished. The minister appeared to be referring to the student protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi over the NEET question paper leak and the subsequent resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Dipke had earlier made it clear that he was not interested in entering electoral politics. He said he wanted to take the CJP forward as a popular movement. “The country needs a public movement,” Dipke had said.
