THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Air Marshal K A A Sanjeeb, a native of Ernakulam, has assumed charge as Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Air Headquarters.
Kondenkolangara Abu Ahmed Sanjeeb began his service in the IAF’s Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) branch on September 3, 1988. He served as the lead engineer and team leader of the Air Headquarters Project Management Team responsible for introducing Ilyushin-78 aerial refuelling aircraft into the IAF for the first time. He also played a key role in the induction and operationalisation of AWACS aircraft in the IAF.
He has served in several key positions at Air Headquarters, including Director General (Aircraft), Director General (Systems) and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Maintenance Plans).
He was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2015 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2026. He is married to Shehnaz Sanjeeb. They have two sons, Sahil Sanjeeb and Sishan Sanjeeb.
