Railway to conduct strict checks on trains; passengers told to carry ID proof

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Railways will conduct strict checks on trains until October 31 to identify passengers travelling without tickets and those violating reservation rules. Reservations under special quotas, railway passes and group bookings will also be checked during the inspections.

Passengers have therefore been advised to carry original identity documents such as Aadhaar cards while travelling. Those availing themselves of fare concessions should carry the original ID proof showing their eligibility for the concession. In the case of group tickets, at least one passenger in the group must carry the prescribed original identity document. Unreserved tickets will also be checked as part of the inspection.
