Rekha Gupta slams AAP MLA for signing applications in undergarments 

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party MLA has landed in controversy after he was seen in a video sitting in his undergarments and signing applications for people in his constituency. Anil Jha Vats, an MLA from Kirari in northeast Delhi, has been embroiled in a controversy. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has harshly criticized the MLA after the footage of the incident went viral.

A video shows the MLA sitting cross-legged in his chair wearing a vest and shorts and a saffron cloth is also seen draped across his lap. The video was shot while he was signing application forms from voters for the Delhi government's scheme for financial aid to women. People, including women, can be seen coming with applications in the footage.
Rekha Gupta raised the issue during the monsoon session of the Assembly. Rekha Gupta criticized the representatives for being modest.

'At least when women come with petitions, they should wear proper clothes. Your behavior is shameful. A representative should never behave like this,' said Rekha Gupta.
The chief minister said that it is the responsibility of all representatives to protect the honor and dignity of women. She clarified that behaving indecently towards women is not in line with democratic values. Rekha Gupta alleged that Anil Jha made obscene gestures during the assembly proceedings. She said that a complaint will be filed in connection with the incident.
